•IPV (inactivated polio
vaccine) is usually given at 2,4, and 6 months of age, with a booster at 18 months, and again at 5 years of age.
•Sometimes the six month dose is omitted.
•Unless traveling to sub-Saharan Africa, or parts of Asia or Eastern Europe, there is no realistic risk.
•I usually give this later: it is more effective. At 6, 9, and 18 months of age, then a 5 year old booster is fine. Boost again every 10 years for at-risk travel.
